The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only and is dedicated to providing exceptional education to students, continuing education to professionals, and informative education to the public. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at UAMS provides a four-year residency program to five residents for each post-graduate year. Through the University Campus Residency Program, you’ll gain insightful academic experiences in emergency surgery and trauma, cardiology, toxicology, orthopedics, obstetrics, anesthesia, medical, surgical, and pediatric critical care. USA Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Ob-Gyn Residents receive competitive training in a unique setting, allowing maximum exposure to procedures and patient care. The University of South Alabama Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is dedicated to the education and training of resident physicians. Our program is clinically oriented and the majority of our residents enter private practice after graduation. Patient care, grand rounds, and didactic presentations result in well-trained specialists. Participation in research and teaching experience prepare those who are interested in subspecialty training and academic medicine. The low resident/faculty ratio results in close contact with faculty members who provide both clinical supervision and academic guidance. Residents do not compete with Fellows so that training of the resident is our only goal. The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics () compiles an extensive standardized data base of participating residency programs. You may view our data base which includes a description of the residency, residents, faculty, hospitals and resident selection but the site requires a password. We encourage you to compare these with those of other residency programs.
